Kathryn "Smalls" Lawson #38

Better known to the Ultimate world (and her boss) as "Smalls," this speedy cutter probably has more muscle packed onto her 5'1" frame than any other Riotess. Smalls came to Riot in 2007 after finishing her career in the trombone section of the marching band at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota, where she also learned to play Ultimate and was trained in the art of relentlessly burning defenders deep.

A geologist by day, Smalls is an incredibly dedicated teammate who often spends the few precious hours that she's not testing and removing toxic drums from remote Washington landfills rushing straight to practice from the airport or sleeping five hours a night between the workouts she just has to get in to stay sane.

Smalls is our tough, hardworking, master of the "dishy" with an alarmingly huge vertical. When not on offense skying defenders many inches taller than herself or ripping off a gigantic backhand, she's running through Ds on defense or persistently urging her teammates on from the sidelines.
