Jinny Eun #9

Jinny Eun is part of the magical Ultimate migration pattern from Carleton College to Seattle. Although her lack of conservative southern belle charm and drawling accent are slight disappointments, she makes up for it with an impressive Ultimate pedigree. Jinny learned to play Ultimate at Carleton, ruling the college Ultimate scene with current Riot teammates Jenn Willson, Miranda Roth and Kate Kingery and winning a National Championship in 2000. While playing a year for the southern club powerhouse, Ozone, Jinny tried her hand at cutting and expanded an already remarkable skill set, which made her a perfect fit for Riot and a reunion with her former Carleton teammates.

Back behind the disc for Riot, Jinny is a valuable defensive handler who uses her quick reflexes and lightning-fast turnover to make life miserable for opposing offenses. And let us be perfectly clear here, Jinny does not just have some fairly fast feet, she is the undisputed Riot speed ladder champion and has been known to take an icky-shuffle to school on more than one occasion.

Also available for casual mystery ailment consultation as our very unofficial team doctor, Jinny is six feet of smarty-pants nerd in a 5’4” frame. An English major turned medical researcher, it’s no wonder that Coach Dennis used to derive pleasure (we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt) from mispronouncing her name or reeling off the names of every Asian he’s ever known before coming to hers.
