Hana Kawai #14

Oh no! Atomic Bomb!!

Hana Kawai is a true Washingtonian Native. This rare breed of ultimate player is naturally inclined to throw farther, jump higher, and chant 'Welcome to Hale' as often as possible. Hana stands 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm) tall with brown eyes, a gentle nature, and a raw ability for prominently awkward facial contortions.  These qualities, along with her cunning on the field, rippling muscles and celebrated skill with a disc, contribute to her paradoxical image, as both a notoriously fearsome disc-slinging opponent, and beloved teammate.

In 2006 after four years of Nathan Hale ultimate with current Riot players Shannon, Claire, and Alyssa, Hana left her Washington roots behind to go to Brown University on the East Coast. Four years of college, two years with club team Brute Squad, two shoulder surgeries, and one degree later Hana returned to Seattle. Hana is Riot's resident Olympic weightlifter and weigh-off champ. In her free time she works out and coaches the Franklin High School girls team.

Urban myth has it that Kawai never runs at a speed greater than 80%. But at this speed she'll run you down, run through you for a d, and then take you to the house for the score. If it wasn't against the rules, Riot players don't doubt that Hana could run down her own hucks.
