Gretchen Muller #33
Riot had long pursued the legend of a 6 foot tall receiver named Gretchen Muller. But, after traveling the world to her birth place of
Abu Dhabi and her Peace Corps pad in Nicaragua, Riot came up empty handed. It turned out that she was here in the Seattle Ultimate leagues just waiting to be scooped up by an elite women's team. And with promises of fame and fortune that no city job can offer, Riot was lucky enough to be this team.
Since joining Riot in 2005, Gretchen has become a force to be reckoned with. She took the 2007 season off to get her new bionic knee up to full form and let her foot calluses heal to silky beautiful skin. You should pity whoever has to handle in the zone with Gretchen on the mark, and if you attempt to put the disc up to someone in the endzone, she will cover the ground and make it there for a big D.
Gretchen is a fierce competitor who can quickly switch from laughing and enjoying trail mix on the sidelines to the most serious game face you can imagine. She is one of those people no one wants to guard because she will take you on a tour and end up getting the disc, then reaching around your mark to break you with her inside break or forehand huck. And that whole time she will never break a smile - she saves them for the time off the field where she is a super fun and supportive teammate who is always trying to improve her game and elevate the play of her teammates.
