Calise Cardenas #7
Fact: Calise Cardenas is more athletic than you. This kid didn't even start playing Ultimate until she got to Seattle U in 2005. Before that, she was too busy pwning n00bs in soccer, lacrosse, cross country and track. In her sophomore year of college, she played in the Open division because the program was too small to support a women's team. In her junior and senior years, she learned to handle with the boys despite the disgusting athleticism she brings to the backfield, and it paid dividends in rounding off her game, as well as injecting it with confidence.
An exciting addition to Riot's backfield, D team and weenie posse, Calise will beat you deep, she will beat you under, and then after scoring, will hop back on the line to serve you a steaming hot bowl of you-just-got-D'd. It's easy for opponents to one-dimentionalize an athlete like Calise, giving her the perfect opportunity to shred your mark with her IO backhand, or bomb a gorgeous deep shot to a fellow cutter. She is a downright scary skill set that Riot is psyched to add to the roster in twenty-ten.
