Winter Women's League - 2012

For the first time EVER, Seattle now has a women's league during the club off-season.  yyyyeeeeEEEEESSSS!

DiscNW is hosting a Winter Women's League this January and February.  With four teams playing each other twice during the six week season, this will be an intimate league with lots of opportunities to meet and hang out with other women ultimate players here in Seattle.  The vision behind starting the league was to provide more opportunities for women on different teams (college, club, league) to come together.  It doesn't matter if you're using this is as prep for your spring league games, a place to work on new skills for the club season, an opportunity to get more reps of the skills from college practice, or just a chance to get outside and chase a piece of plastic.  If you're a woman and like having fun, this league is for you.

When: Fridays, Jan 20-Feb 24, 2012, 7:15-9:15 pm
Where: Magnuson, turf field 7
Who: Women 18 or older
How much: $45

REGISTER NOW!!!

We're really excited for the start of this league and have faith in the huge Seattle ultimate community for getting enough interest to make this happen.  Unfortunately, the only time fields were available conflicts with 4 of the winter sessions for AGE UP.  If you are an AGE UP coach who would be interested in playing in this league except for the time conflict, email the league organizer, Gwen Ambler, to see if there is some arrangement that can be made.

See you on the field!

Waitlist is now open

Wow.  It only took 9 days for the league to fill up!

Thank you to all 60 women who took the leap of faith to jump on board for this new league.  It promises to be a great experience for everyone and I can not wait for it to start.

For those of you who missed the initial openings, a waitlist has begun.  If players drop out (or don't pay by the end of December), those spots will be filled from the waitlist.  Additionally, the waitlist will also serve as a potential sub list for team captains to access if their team numbers dip below 9 players for any given week.  So, there are lots of reasons to still register.

Really, really impressed with the enthusiasm of the ultimate community here in Seattle!
