Riot 2010 Open Tryout!

in

Hi Everyone -

Because Riot will be attending the World Ultimate Club Championships in Prague this July, our tryout process is happening earlier than usual and will have a slightly different structure than in the past.

*Riot Showcase Game*

On Saturday, October 24th, Riot will be holding an open practice for all of our local fans to come watch us practice and scrimmage before we head off to Sarasota, FL, to compete in the UPA Club National Championships (Oct 29 - Nov 1). The practice is from 9am - 12pm at Hamlin Fields (in Shoreline at 25th Ave NE and NE 160th St), and we'll be playing a full scrimmage for the last hour (11am-12pm). Please come and send us off to Florida!

The Fall Series, Part II: Regionals

This season the women's Northwest region received four bids to the UPA Club National Championships in Sarasota - two automatic bids and two strength bids based on our region's performance at Nationals in 2008 (all three NW teams - Fury, Riot, and Traffic - advanced to the semifinals). With eight teams at Regionals, the Saturday tournament format consisted of two pools of four teams that played themselves out in three games apiece.

Gallery and Gear Updates

Our photo galleries and gear page are now active. Visit the galleries to check out some action shots of Riot 2009, some of our most embarrassing and nonathletic moments (in the Blooper gallery), and best of all - shots from the 2009 Seattle Women's Ultimate Clinic! Then stop by the gear page so you can represent with your very own Riot jersey, water bottle, hat, or one of many more choices.

Further updates are on the way soon, including photos from previous Riot years, more gear items and details on size and color availability.

The Fall Series, Part I: Sectionals

Riot finished first in the initial round of the UPA Club series this weekend in Burlington, WA, playing in a round robin format against two other Seattle teams and two northern neighbors from Vancouver, BC. All sectional scores can be found on the score reporter at upa.org. Riot's results were as follows:

vs. Seattle's Underground: 15-4

vs. Seattle/Bellingham's Apartment 11: 15-0
