Seattle Riot Ultimate News

Riot kicked off Part II of our 2010 season with a successful weekend at the Emerald City Classic (ECC).  

We started Saturday by reuniting with our 5 teammates who weren't able to make the trip to Prague for Worlds earlier this summer.  It was wonderful to have Alyssa, Caitlin, Ebae, Lisa, and Shannon back!  Unfortunately, KK and Smalls had to miss ECC because of family and work commitments, and we missed Caitlin and Jinny for all of Sunday (illness and work), but this weekend was a major step in putting all the pieces together for the team.

Riot is pleased to invite all of our supporters to our Worlds Send-Off.  This is one of our last practices before we all head off to Prague to compete in the World Ultimate Club Championships and we are excited to be able to share our excitement with our fans.

Riot is hosting the 15th annual Seattle Women's Clinic this summer.  This is a great opportunity to learn new skills from some of the best women's players in the country.  All skill levels are welcome, so whether you're a brand new beginner or a seasoned vet you will benefit from the strategies and techniques taught at the clinic.  In years past topics have ranged from defensive positioning to cutting effectively to breaking the mark to hucking to laying out with good form.  The day also includes some scrimmaging and other games.

After three weeks of try-outs, we are pleased to announce the addition of 6 new members of Riot 2010.  All of the women who tried out for the team played their hearts out and showed an incredibly high level of skill and desire, making many of the decisions extremely difficult.  Seattle is definitely fortunate to have such a strong women's ultimate community!
