ECC

Announcing ECC 2012 - Aug 11-12

ECC has a long history of being one of the top tournaments of the season, and this year we hope to build on that tradition and make the tournament better than ever.

ECC Champions!

While the last throw of the tournament hung in the air, I had the time to say aloud, "That's not the look we want." Half a second later, Smalls out-read and out-jumped her taller defender for the game-winning catch and the title of ECC Champions. Instantly the huck decision was forgotten as Riot rushed the field to celebrate our double-game point victory over Fury.

Emerald City Classic - Aug 13-14

It's finally here! The Emerald City Classic has been a premier club event since it first started in 2001 and a lot of effort has gone into making the 2011 version better than ever. Check out the tournament website for short bios of each of the teams in attendance--we are especially pleased to have teams from Australia, Japan, Canada, and all across the US come into our backyard to play some of the best ultimate around.

Exhibition Game - Friday Aug 12th

Seattle is proud to have two of the top 10 women's teams in the country and this Friday they will face off in an exhibition game right here in town. Both teams feature skilled players and tons of athleticism--playing fast paced ultimate with lots of exciting plays.

2011 ECC Teams

The field of teams for the 2011 Emerald City Classic is now set with some of the top teams in the world attending. The list includes 5 of the 8 quarter-finalists from both WUCC and USAU Club Championships in 2010. The tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 13-14, at the Skagit River Park in Burlington, WA. On Friday, August 12, there will be additional exhibition games held in Seattle at Magnuson Park among teams that were able to come early.

Announcing ECC 2011

ECC has a long history of being one of the top tournaments of the season due to the level of competition and creative formats, and this year we hope to continue that tradition.

ECC Results

Riot finished the three days of ECC with an 8-1 record, losing one game to Japan's Uno and winning over Schwa, Bent, Backhoe, Zeitgeist and Fury in pool play. On Sunday, Riot toppled Brute Squad in quarterfinals and Colombia's Revolution to meet Fury again in the finals and earn a 14-9 tournament victory!

Our next tournament is Labor Day, September 5-6, in Santa Cruz, CA.
