Flatballers Week 2

ECBA Interbay 7:10 PM Flatballers vs The Minions

Flatballers Game 1

November 1st, 8:30pm, Bitterlake Community Center sets the scene for the
first Flatballers game on the season. Being the day after a majority of
us have returned from Nationals, numbers appear to be low early in the
day. As game time approached, the realization that Flatballers would
only have 4 players sank in, despite Alyssa and Shannon's efforts to
contact every semi athletic person they knew in and out of the Ultimate
community.
Bermi, Alyssa, and I (Shannon) showed up around 8:10 in hopes of

Day 7 Monday
After an amazing, action packed weekend and two mean sunburns we spent Monday relaxing. We slept in until 10 or so catching up on sleep from the weekend and leisurely strolled down to breakfast. It was Aaron's last few hours with us, it was like losing a member of the family. Where would we be without his absurd jokes that kept us laughing for hours?? After breakfast and Aaron's departure we headed up to the room. It was blog time! I think we spent a good two the three hours working on the blog update for days 4, 5 and 6... So we hope you enjoyed it!!

DR: Day 6! Beach tourney!!

The day that had been talked up all week had finally arrived. Sunday, the day of the hat beach tournament. About a half hour away, we arrived at a beach resort. It was beautiful, nice sandy beach, turquoise blue water, the warmest we had experienced yet. All day we had an all exclusive pass to food and drinks. We showed up at 10, lathered up our first layer of sunscreen and headed for the water. The tournament itself didn't start up until around 12 so we enjoyed some pick up, some swimming, and throwing.

DR: Day 5

745am. Let the double clinics begin. Rolling out of bed, we put down some breakfast and headed out. The morning session, we worked with Mamajuana, the Dominican national women's team that will be heading to Pan Americans this November.  We worked on focused throwing, 4 lines drill and went through defensive rotations, one more marking and one for downfield positioning. We moved on to a layout progression, unfortunately while running our V cut drill, one player caught her pinky on the ground and broke it.

DR days 4, 5, and 6

It's around 11:30 am on Monday morning and we are finally able to sleep in and take a rest day after a week full of adventure.  We'll start this recap with a description of our epic road trip on Friday.
